About Niyang River:


    The Niyang River is the largest tributary on the north side of the Brahmaputra River and one of the five tributaries within the basin of the Brahmaputra River。It originates from the west side of the Mila Mountain at Cumuliangla, flows from west to east, near Zemen Nyingchi County into the Brahmaputra River, a total length of 307.5 km, 2,273 m drop, average gradient of 7.39。Its source is an ancient glacial valley, about 5,000 meters above sea level。The average discharge of the Niyang River is 538 cubic meters per second, the annual runoff is 22 billion cubic meters, and the hydropower reserves can reach 2.08 million kilowatts。         In legend, the Niyang River is the sad tears of the sacred mountain。The forest vegetation on both sides of the river is intact, the river is clear and contains less sand, which is the "mother river" of the people of Gongbu.。
